HOW TO
Single-Arm Cable Lateral Raise technique.
Use a load and range you can control consistently.
- Set a low cable and stand side-on to the stack with the handle in the outside hand.
- Keep a small elbow bend and the torso still.
- Raise the arm out to the side through a comfortable range.
- Lead with the elbow rather than shrugging the shoulder.
- Lower slowly until the cable is still under tension.

MUSCLES WORKED
Side delts.
Muscle contribution changes with setup, range, load and individual technique.
COMMON MISTAKES
Keep the rep consistent.
- Shrugging to lift the handle
- Swinging the torso
- Bending the elbow more as the rep gets harder
- Using a load that removes control
PROGRESSION
Make the next session comparable.
Keep your setup and range similar, log your working sets, reps and load, then use the previous session as your reference.
