How to Eat 180g Protein a Day.
For a higher daily target, spreading protein across four or five feedings usually feels easier than trying to catch up at night.
Four-meal structure.
Four meals around 40–45g plus smaller contributions from other foods can bring the day near 180g.
- Breakfast: eggs/egg whites or yogurt + whey
- Lunch: chicken, turkey or tuna meal
- Afternoon: dairy bowl or shake plus food
- Dinner: meat, fish or a deliberate plant-protein combination
Keep calories under control if needed.
At higher protein targets, choosing some lean sources can stop protein foods from crowding out carbs and fats.
- Use lean meat, fish, low-fat dairy and egg whites strategically.
- You do not need every protein source to be ultra-lean.
- Track sauces, oils and snack extras as well as the protein food.
Check the target makes sense.
A target of 180g is useful only if it fits your size, goals, diet and health context.
- More protein is not automatically more muscle.
- Make room for fruit, vegetables, fibre, carbs and dietary fat.
- Seek individual advice when a medical condition affects dietary protein.
